Dr. Lisa Lunney Borden is a Professor in the Faculty of Education at St. Francis Xavier University and an internationally recognized researcher in mathematics education. Her work explores how mathematics can become more meaningful, equitable, and accessible by drawing upon the strengths, knowledge systems, and lived experiences of communities.

For more than two decades, she has worked alongside Mi’kmaw and African Nova Scotian communities, educators, Elders, Knowledge Keepers, researchers, and youth to co-create approaches to teaching and learning that honour multiple ways of knowing while supporting student success.
